Hayakawa Seminar - Day 3 (2/5/05)
The final day of Mr. Hayakawa-san's seminar was held at the Hong Kong Judo-Kan in the office building next to the Sogo department store.
The seminar again started off with some warm up movements that can also be used when sparring. Techniques covered during the seminar include: escapes when the opponent has sprawled on top of you, some stand-up sweeps, reversals from the half guard and submissions from the mount.
Again the techniques shown were not flashy, but it was the details that made the techniques effective.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable seminar with a large turnout for all three days. You can tell that Mr. Hayakawa-san knows his Jiu-Jitsu well as he can explain the small details that make the technique effective and work. This alone is reason enough to make it worth while to attend his seminars.
Thanks should also go to the people that made Mr. Hayakawa-san's seminar happen: Angela, Kei, Taki (also for translating), Brad (for assisting Mr. Hyakawa-san in demonstrating the techniques), Hara and Henry.
